The D.A.V. College Managing Committee established the college on July 26, 1948, in honour of Mahatma Hansraj, a pioneer in the area of education. It is now one of the most prominent members of the D.A.V. family of over 700 institutions, as well as one of Delhi University’s major constituent colleges.
