Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, New Delhi Overview
Dr K.M. Munshi established the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, a globally renowned institution committed to the development of education and culture, on November 7, 1938. Dr Rajendra Prasad, Shri C. Rajagopalachari, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Patel, and other notable intellectuals, politicians, and leaders of the contemporary Indian Renaissance are among the Bhavan’s founding members.
With 112 Kendras in India, 8 abroad Centres, 280 member institutions, and a number of associated colleges, the Bhavan has developed into a tremendous intellectual, cultural, and educational movement. Over the course of its six decades of existence, the Bhavan has worked tirelessly to uphold and promote the essential principles of life, reintegrating them with new aspects suitable to present situations. This is achieved through its 230-plus component organisations and departments, 107 centres dispersed across India and overseas, and over 1500 publications, including its massive eleven-volume history series.
